Confederates by Charles Dodd White

One of my favorite literary writers is Charles Dodd White.  He's had several short story collections and one novel published but you can still find his work online.  There is a softness in his writing that just draws you in and keeps you reading but behind that softness hides the bitter truth that life is never fair.  This morning I ran across one of his short stories over at Word Riot.  It's called "Confederates" and it's well worth the read.
