Limitless Publishing - Anthology Call

Limitless Publishing has posted a call for 500 word story proposals for an anthology titled "13:  Cult".  They are seeking horror and dark fiction stories of 7500 to 12,000 words (sweet spot is 10,000) using the theme of Cults.  The proposal deadline is March 1, 2018.  There is no mention of payment so you'll have to query with your proposal.  You can find the details here.

Placer Gold Writers Ink - Anthology Call

Placer Gold Writers Ink is seeking stories for their second anthology "Miner Detours in Reality:  A Speculative Fiction Anthology".  They're are looking for stories of 2000 to 8000 words set in the California Gold Country.  The deadline is January 30, 2018.  The payment is listed as a royalty of $20 to $30 on a sliding scale.  You can find the details here.

18th Wall Publications - Anthology Call

18th Wall Publications has posted an anthology call for "Sockhops & Seances".  They're looking for Supernatural stories of 4000 to 20,000 words in any genre as long as there is supernatural element.  The stories must be set in the 1950's.  The deadline is March 15, 2018.  Payment is a royalty split.  You can find the details here.  There are lots of details so be sure to fully read the guidelines.

StoryHack - Open for Submissions

StoryHack is currently open to submissions of action/adventure stories of 2000 to 17,500 words with their sweet spot being 9000 to 10,000 words.  The deadline is January 20, 2018 (yes, it says 2017 on the submission page but the Facebook says 2018).  Payment is 1cent a word.  You can find the details here.  Thanks to Michael Bracken for the link!

Lynne Jamneck - Anthology Call

Editor Lynne Jamneck has posted an anthology call for "Forces of Nature".  They are looking for short fiction of 2500 to 10,000 words "that explores the physical and metaphysical boundaries between humanity and the natural world".  And yes, there's more details in the guidelines.  The deadline is March 31, 2018 and payment is 7cents a word for stories up to 7000 word and 5cents a word for stories over 7000 words.  The publisher is Dark Regions PressYou can find the details here.

Darkwater Syndicate - Anthology Call

Darkwater Syndicate has posted a call for short horror stories of 5000 to 8000 words about people who sneak into an abandoned, forgotten, shunned, or cursed communities and survive to tell the tale.  The emphasis here is on community, a haunted house will not work.  The stories must be set in the present and be told in first person by the survivor who discovered the reason for the community's loss and lived to tell the tale.  The deadline is March 1, 2018 and payment is $50.  You can read the details here.

Circlet Press - Erotica Anthology Call

For those of you who write both erotica and crime fiction this one might be of interest to you.  Circlet Press has posted an anthology call for "Dressed in Black:  Erotica Tales of Edgar Allan Poe".  They're looking for erotica stories in any genre of 3000 to 7000 words that are based on the work of Poe.  They're not looking for retellings but want original work with a Poe twist.  The deadline is February 15, 2018 and payment is $25.  You can find the details here.

Iguana Books - Anthology Call - Canadian Writers Only

Iguana Books has posted an anthology call for "Blood is Thicker:  An Anthology of Twisted Family Traditions".  This anthology is only open to Canadian writers who haven't had a full length work (40,000 words) published by a traditional publisher.  They're looking for stories of 3000 to 7500 words that start with this sentence:  "It was February 29 again, and I was wondering which member of my family would try to kill me this time.".  Any genre.  The deadline is February 28, 2018 and payment is 2cents a word CAD.  You can find the details here.
