Pen Names - Again

I mentioned a week or so ago that I was considering using a pen name.  What I hadn't considered was using a different name for each genre I write in.  This post I found over at Angie's Desk takes a good look at the reasons to use a pen name when you're writing in different genres.

She makes a good point. I remember years ago finding out that Ed McBain was actually Evan Hunter and realizing I mostly preferred Ed McBain. The fantasy I'm contributing to the Drifting Isles Chronicles will be under the name Katt Parrish, because it's REALLY different from what I usually write. Since I have that name on my blog, it's not like I'm hiding my identity and those stories are also different from my main genre.
Om the otherhand, I have several erotic stories on the marketplace under a sudo because using my own name would embarrass people I care about.

I can understand the name change for erotica, Katherine. :)

After reading that post, I realized that many of the people who read my crime/noir stories don't read my Western or Sci-fi/Fantasy work. I hadn't thought about reader's taste.
