The technology is moving so fast now, it's impossible to keep up. I can't imagine anyone buying a single short story of mine when they can get them free in a zine with lots of other stories. I think that's probably for well-known writers. But what do I know?

Patti -- I read a Lawrence Block article recently in which he said that he sold 500 copies of one of his short stories last month.
Of course, not many of his are available for free...
It's impossible to keep up, Patti! And I, too, think the better known authors do better because of their name recognition.

Yes, Chris, I think that's were online writers might have a problem. We're well-known, sort of, but our stories are also readily available for anyone who wants to take the time to look.
And, of course, I am not Lawrence Block. The distance between us is immeasurable.
