Dirty Noir

There's been rumors floating across the net that Dirty Noir is closing up shop, some from reliable sources. Their online site and Facebook page hasn't been updated since September, and Twitter has been quiet since October. They use a Submishmash submission page so before you submit, it would be best to contact the editors through their online site http://www.dirtynoir.com If you have stories with them, you might want to query as to their status.

My understanding is that they are currently closed to submissions and will be releasing their quarterly pub next month.

I checked the submission pages just this afternoon and it doesn't mention that they're closed to subs and the new quarterly was supposed to be out in October, but things do go wrong.

I'll certainly be happy if they're not shutting down though.

I would hate to think they are shutting down. They were born the very day Dark Valentine died and I always hoped they'd be able to make a go of it where we could not.

I received an email a couple of days ago with a little about what's going on as I have a story that's going to be in the quarterly. Doc mentioned that he's temporarily closing submissions until he gets caught up on the back log.

I'd hate that, too, Katherine, but the signs don't seem promising.

I can understand closing to catch up, Chris, and I hope that's all this is. I've got my fingers crossed, it would be sad to lose another market this year.

I agree. They showed a lot of promise early on.
