There's a new zine looking to launch on January 1. 2012 called Comets and Criminals. This will be a quarterly zine. They're looking for flash up to 1000 words and shorts up to 5000 in all the genres (sci-fi, adventure, historical, western) For the crime/mystery genre stories you have up to 10,000 words to spin your yarn. Pay here is 1cent a word.

Yes, it's nice seeing new markets open up and good to see ones that work across all the genres.
My only worry is the fact that the first issue won't be up until January. I've noticed that the zines with longer lead times tend not to materialize. But I always hope!
I have noticed that the zine that do make it, have a lineup ready to go and a first issue published before calling for subs.
I do like the sounds of this zine and I've got my fingers crossed!
