A Study in Sidekicks: The Detectives Assistant in Crime Fiction - Call for Papers

Shots magazine has posted a "Call for Papers:  A Study in Sidekicks:  The Detectives Assistant in Crime Fiction".  They're looking for essays of 7000 to 8000 words "that explore the changing representations and functions of the detective's sidekick".  They want an abstract of 300 to 350 words by November 13, 2017 with full essays due June 1, 2018.  There is also a list of topics.  There is no mention of payment.  You can find the details here.
