I always get a kick out of submission guidelines that inform you that they will be editing your work then say something like this:
"Editing: Yes, your story will be edited if we decide to accept it. After we got through and edit your story, it will then be sent back to you for final approval.".

There seems to be a lot of this going around from Editors of small e-zines that usually
offer a very small payment.
The Editor sends a snarky little message and then I sit back and wonder if this person has ever had anything they've written published.
Yes, it seems to be that way, Leroy. This was actually for an anthology call that a publisher put out and they were only paying 1/2cent a word. What always bothers me about mistakes like this is if they don't care about their words, will they care about mine?
Some folks start magazines as a way to get their name out there and eventually generate their own writing career.
That's very true, Charles, but the good ones manage to put out a quality product while they're doing it. No matter which side of the desk you're on, the work is a reflection of you, and it should be the best that it can be.
