The H Word: The Politics of Horror by Paul Tremblay
Over at Nightmare Magazine there's a great essay by Paul Tremblay that shines a light on the horror genre and how the best of it should be written. You can check it out here.
I think horror and crime fiction cross many of the same lines, Bobbi. I know that many of my stories could just as easily be termed horror as well as crime fiction.

Interesting essay, Sandra. Now I'm wondering if some of the stuff I've been writing really is horror. It's certainly something to ponder. . .

Of course everyone's idea of horror is just as varied as their idea of what is science fiction. The trick is finding just the right market :)
