Are you ready for a contest? No fees, of course. Well, Punchnel's is sponsoring a Flash Hybrid Noir contest. You can mix noir with any genre that tickles your fancy but you have to do it in 500 words or less. And hurry, the deadline is next Friday, February 13. Top prize is $50 plus publication and four runners-up will be published and paid Punchnel's going rate of $10. Submissions are through Submittable. You can
find all the details here.

Got a submission in, literally one minute before deadline.
Ridiculous as that sounds, it feels good. This 500-word (exactly) story is the first piece I've actually completed in months.
Now to finish the short story I interrupted to write the flash piece; and then the teleplay I interrupted for the story; then the stage play I interrupted for the teleplay ... and then, I swear, back to the novel I'm supposed to be writing.
Better late than never, Manuel. Good luck! And I know exactly how you feel about having too many projects going at one time - nothing ever seems to get finished.
