Controversial Short Stories
Interesting piece over at Flavorwire on "10 Controversial Short Stories". The strange thing is many of these shorts top people's lists of best short stories ever.

I was surprised at some of these stories, Charles. It's interesting finding out what people found objectionable when they were first publishewd.
Which may be a good lesson to us all. I will never forget the shock of A GOOD MAN or THE LOTTERY.
Neither of those stories shocked me, Patti. Of course, I came to them late in my reading and had read and seen far worse.
It seems strange that the critics are even worse now if you try for something new.
