I like the line: "I soon learned that the golden decade was any that you didn't happen to be inhabiting at the moment."

You see that type of grousing a lot and it's a good reminder.

Yes, I loved that line, too, and I expect we all use that on so many levels of our lives. The past always looks better after you've survived it.
