Just a note to let you crime writing folks know that Switchblade magazine has posted their submission period for the next issue. It will be opening on July 20, 2017 and end on August 15, 2017. Don't jump the gun, just mark it in your calendars so you'll be ready. :)

Thing is, I keep seeing these submission calls for what sounds like a really promising market, and my mind races to think of what kind of relevant story I could slap together -- and then I take a look at the payment, and see it's in the neighborhood of nothing per word. Ah, well.
Yeah, there's not a whole lot of pro paying markets for crime fiction, Manuel.
