Well, it's time again to post the annual roundup of short fiction crime markets. This post contains all the markets that we lost this year.
I think the saddest loss was ThugLit. It was a great market and one that many writers who were published here went on to have novels picked up.
The Big Click was a great paying market but they never seemed to pick up enough steam to keep going. They published some excellent fiction here.
Pulp Modern closed their doors this year but there are whispers that they might be coming back.
Crime Factory hasn't announced that they're closing but their last issue was in March and they weren't open to submissions in 2016.
Shock Totem was publishing novellas but they didn't open submissions for the second half of the year.
Noir Nation posted back in June that issue #6 was due out any day but it never appeared. They have also been closed for submissions for over a year.
Crime City Central was a podcast that posted reprints and sadly they closed their doors this year.
Dead Gun Press went on hiatus last summer and haven't returned. And the anthologies that were filled haven't been published yet.
And finally Button Tapper Press announced a new imprint called Damned Dames but they never actually published anything. And the call has disappeared from their website.

Thank you for your list of closed mags. It takes some patience and work to accumulate and check all that information, and we appreciate your efforts.
You're most welcome, Jody.
