Alan Rickman RIP

Just found out that Alan Rickman passed away.  Such sad news for movie watchers like me.  While he was wonderful in playing over the top bad guys I always loved his turns with comedy.  I have two favorites that are rarely mentioned "Blow Dry" and "Judas Kiss".  And I will always remember that surprised look on his face when Quigley shot him in their final scene of "Quigley Down Under" then said, "Didn't say I couldn't use one, I said I didn't have much use for one."  And that wonderful Rickman smirk as he died in that scene.  RIP in peace good sir.  You will be missed.

Damn. Such a huge talent.

Yes indeed, Travis. And for all that talent he never seemed to yell look at me when he was on the screen, he was always the character never the actor.

I was just thinking about BOB ROBERTS, Tim Robbins's satire of rightwing evangelists, and Alan Rickman's exquisitely smarmy and hypocritical delivery of the line, "I've got to go pray." He said it all in four words.

Loved him in Truly, Madly, Deeply and Sense and Sensibility and Love Actually (although a small part).

Five words. It was that kind of day yesterday. Sigh.

I know about those days, Al!

And I love all of his movies - I wish there could be more.
