Inscription - New YA Market

During my morning market search I came across this new YA magazine called "Inscription: A Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction for Teens".  They've issued a call for submissions of short stories of 500 to 9000 words aimed at 11 to 19 year olds.  Payment is 5cents a word.  You can find all the details here.

Thanks. I've got a piece into the Kaleidoscope anthology and if it gets rejected this market will be the next stop.

It's always good to have a few back-up markets, Dusty, especially for anthology submissions.

It's an 8500 word YA piece so it's been tough finding markets that accept both YA and novelette-length pieces. So this is a nice alternative. Kaleidoscope is a major antho though. A couple of pro editors, one from Strange Horizons, are editing for that one.

Length can sometimes be a problem in any genre, Dusty. I had a crime story that was 8200 words that I finally placed last year by querying the editor. It takes a lot of patience to find the right market.
