Prairie Rose Publications is a new press that has just opened for business. They're looking for Historical Westerns and Historical Western Romances written by women. Yep, this is a market for females only. They want short stories for digital release and novels and novellas for both print and ebooks. Payment is a royalty share. You can check them out here.
Hat tip to James Reasoner.

I'm considering creating lots of personas or letting friends submit for me. I'm so tired of seeing females-only or lgbt-only. I'm not even sure if it's legal. I'm okay with theme-ing the anthologies, but not excluding groups of people. So I'm just going to let my black/gay/women friends have my stories to submit. Not really...
or really?
BTW, the above is supposed to be tongue-in-cheek. Please don't start labeling me a bigot.
Peace

There are men who write romance under a pen name, Dusty. Michael Bracken writes for the confession market under many different names, but I'm pretty sure the editors know who he is.
I think this market is trying to help women who write in the Western genre get published without having to resort to a pen name.
