I'm enjoying the fact that some of the new editors/publishers are putting their zines out in print. There's just something about holding those pages in your hands that you can't quite capture with electronic publishing. Sandra-read your story in Pulp Modern last night. You have really nailed the western without sacrificing your style and your humanity. Great one. I would never think to write about bears. Great imagination. Or do you have them in your neck of the woods. We do have coyotes here now. Right in the suburbs and deer. But no bears yet.
Patti's got me so intrigued, I can't wait to read the story! Congrats for getting it accepted and published. I hope "Pulp Modern" sticks around for some time.
Yep, we've got bears, Patti! Back a few years ago a bear attacked a woman in a small town near us. I wanted to write a story about that, but I felt like it needed to be a Western because the average reader wouldn't believe a bear walked into town and attacked a woman. And thanks for the compliment!

Don't fret. There are quite a few magazines that don't think I'm good enough for them. Every time they pass on a story, I send them another. Sooner or later, they're going to have to accept something just so I stop bugging them!
