While searching for markets I ran across the winners of the San Diego City Beat 2017 Fiction 101 Contest. My favorite is "The Swap" by Scotty Hoopes. One of the best ways I've seen to get away with murder :) It's one of the honorable mentions so you'll have to scroll down the page to read it.

Submissions have opened for the Bouchercon 2018 anthology "Sunny Places, Shady People". They are looking for stories of 1500 to 5000 words set in or inspired by Florida. For those of you who write romance stories Smoking Pen Press has opened submissions for two romance anthologies. The first is "A Wink and a Smile" which is looking for stories of 1000 to 7000 words with a deadline of January 1, 2018. The second is "A Kiss and a Promise" which is looking for stories of 7,000 to 12,000 words with a deadline of February 14, 2018. Stories can be in any genre (except erotica) as long as romance is the key factor in your story. Both pay $25 and reprints are okay. You can find the details for both here.
